So, I am now in Young Womens/Personal Progress. When you turn 12-13 year olds are Beehives, 14-15 year olds are Mia Maids, and 16-17 year olds are Laurels. Once a year, usually in June or July, the Young Women go to Girls Camp. Now that I am a Beehive, I am a first year camper at Girls Camp.
Starting the month before, we started preparing to get our camp certifications. For 1st year campers, we just need to tie some knots, learn how to use a compass, etc. We worked on getting our camp certifications and afterwards we would always get some kind of treat.
At the Camp Kickoff, we were told that the theme would be BOOT Camp. Building On Our Testimonies. Get it? BOOT camp? No?
I'll explain it:

Flash forward one month, we are FINALLY at girls camp! It is July 13 and we have just arrived in the fresh mountain air. We stand around for about 30 minutes and then we start setting up tents and getting our things into the tents. There were 2 tents with about 8 people in each. One tent was HUGE and had 4 separate rooms. The other one was big and had enough space for 8 people being tightly squished. When someone switched tents from the smaller one (mine) into the larger one, we finally had some walking room. After we were done setting up the tents, we had some free time so, My 2 friends and I shared some scary stories and I gave my secret sister her gift which I cross stitched over the course of 3 days. After our free time was over, we were called to the pavilion make a banner our of paints, markers, etc. Once the banner was done and drying, we played Human Knots. A game in which everybody holds hands with someone that is not next to them and a huge "Human Knot" forms and you have to use teamwork to get untangled. Next, we played a game called "Electricity." The rules to this game are linked here. After we played the games Group A (my group) started preparing Dinner. We made tinfoil dinners so, we cut the tinfoil, prepared the meat, and cut the vegetables. It was SO good! Once dinner was done, we had to clean up and then we had our first devotional. For a while, we had to wait as they set up the devotional so we played "Ride that Pony" We started by praying, singing some songs, and then doing the Young Women theme. After we were done with the starting routine, we were asked to put on a blindfold and then to hold the person in front of us's shoulders. We all did as directed. All of the Young Women were led into some chairs to sit down in and then we started feeling through Christ's life. We held a baby doll to represent him being born, we had nails put into our hands (not all the way though), we had a crown of thorns placed on our heads. We all felt how much pain Jesus went through because he loved us so much. The spirit overwhelmed a good portion of us, and we cried. I cried, my friends cried, it was so spiritual. After the devotional, we roasted Marshmallows and Starbursts.
The next day, we all woke up and ate breakfast which was pancakes, bacon, and sausage. Then, we all went up to the bathrooms (which were 0.2 miles away) to brush our teeth. The night that we had just woken up from consisted of people saying the ground was too hard and a fake rattlesnake that had 2 of the girls in our tent scared to DEATH. The day before, there were a few rattlesnake sightings but, they cut off the rattlesnakes head so that it would not and COULD not bite or terrorize anyone else. At 9:30 o'clock sharp, we left on a 1 hour long hike. So, the hike up was completely uphill and we saw like 30 butterflies! Once we got to the designated area, we sat down and 2 girls gave our devotional for that morning. The way down was MUCH more chaotic. I was the cause of us finding a mountain quail because it was shaking the bush it was in just enough to make it sound like a rattlesnake. Another girl, spotted a grey Garter Snake and freaked out like she just saw a rattlesnake. I was turning around to see what it was and lo and behold, I TRIPPED OVER MYSELF! When we got back to the pavilion, we got to enjoy Granola Bars and Capri Suns. After we were done gouging ourselves in those, my group started on lunch which was Taco Salad. One girl and I cut the watermelon while the others just poured stuff into bowls and put stuff on the island. When we finished lunch, we made dog tags and wrote letters to soldiers. After we were through with that, a few more of my friends and I played this weird obstacle course game. Once we were done with that, one of my friends and I were walking up to the bathroom and we heard a rattling so, we stood still. It started getting louder so we said "SCREW IT!" and went back to camp. After that we played some volleyball. We were assigned groups to do skits in and our skit was themed "Back to the Future!" After that, we had a devotional and showered (none of us wanted to shower w/o someone right outside the door :'D) We ended the day with some star gazing. We saw the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Delphinus Cancun, Scorpio, the Northern Cross, and a few more.
On the final day, we had a continental breakfast (Muffins, Juice, Cereal, etc.) We took down our tents and packed up our things. We had a devotional by 2 girls and played some cup games. The cup games we played were learning how to play "Cups" by Anna Kendrick and we played a game where you pass cups back and forth singing a song that means Pass the Cups in French. Once we had to stop banging our cups on the metal table (I still don't know why *wink*) we played volleyball. I got an amazing hit on it, got our team a point, and I had one of the last hits. For lunch that day, we had a baked potato bar which was DELICIOUS! We didn't do much for the next few hours except for play Exploding Kittens and Killer Bunnies which are two completely different card games. When the parents were finally arriving, we were playing Tenzi/Wild Uno. To end off camp, we had our testimony meeting and everyone told each other who they had as secret sisters. My secret sister made a big gesture and gave me Starbursts and two rocks shaped as hearts that I am going to keep forever! Before we all left we had someone film us all singing "If you aren't ready for my kiss... you can wear my SWEATSHIRT!"
